June, 2021, Lake Alum Treatment  The Hess Lake Improvement Board is considering an expensive Lake Alum Treatment. See page 25, description of Alum Treatment & pages 32, 33 on cost of treatment in the 2020 Progressive AE Hess Lake Study. I read that Silver Lake near Lake Michigan is considering applying for a permit from EGLE to plant native aquatic plants. Could this be done at Hess Lake instead of an Alum Treatment? June, 2021, Grand Valley State University Muck Study, GVSU completed a study on Hess, Brooks & Pickerel Lake muck to determine if muck pellets actually do anything. Which they don’t work as advertised. Read the Executive Summary on Page 2 & Summary on page 34 first. The rest of the report a lot of technical data. This study is located under the Engineering Tab. Muck pellets were used in Hess Lake in years 2016, 17 & 18. 

May, 2021, the Hess Lake Improvement Board is removing the aeration system from Hess Lake since it isn’t effective. Used from 2015 to 2020.
